My Juilliard degree has gone to the dogs, and I couldn’t be more proud.
While I’ve spent a lifetime on stage, my greatest joy has always been at the piano bench with a dog by my side.
Over the years, friends, students, and even strangers have often said to me: “I want the relationship you have with your dog.” That heart connection, built on trust, calm, and presence inspires everything I create.
Through Canine Classical, I use music not only to ease anxiety, but to nurture the invisible thread between dogs and their people. My newest project, Chopin for Dogs, shares a special piece of the relationship I’ve had with each of my beloved dogs, from Sanchez, my soulful guide dog puppy, to Gina, my spirited agility champion, to Sundance, my joyful current companion, with you and yours.
As co-founder of Through a Dog’s Ear (now iCalmPet), I became the first classical pianist to reach Billboard’s Classical Top 20 Chart with music for pets. My music has been featured on NPR, Good Morning America, DOGTV, the CBS Early Show, and USA Today, and has brought music and comfort to thousands of dogs in homes, shelters, and training centers worldwide.
At Canine Classical, my mission is simple: to create harmony between both ends of the leash through the universal language of music.
